Warwick Det. Capt. Robert Nelson said yesterday that a joint investigation with West Warwick Police yielded two suspects connected with a burglary in West Warwick last month.
“We were told by West Warwick Police that the two men they were looking for were staying in a house in Warwick,” said Nelson. “So, we set up surveillance on the address and waited.”
Michael Flamand, 27, of 567 Main Ave. in Warwick and Christopher Robalewski, 32 of 95 Church St. in West Warwick, were arrested on Friday.
According to the police press release, Warwick detectives apprehended Flamand after a brief foot pursuit. Police said Flamand was in possession of five stolen firearms at the time. A fur coat and several watches were also recovered at 95 Lindy Ave. in Warwick as a result of the chase. All of the items were reported stolen from a West Warwick residence in January. Detectives developed information regarding the suspects and the Lindy Avenue address in Warwick that led to Flamand being charged with burglary, possession of stolen goods, including firearms and Robalewski being charged with felony possession of stolen goods. A check of court records revealed over a dozen prior felony and misdemeanor arrests for Robalewski, including possession of stolen goods and breaking and entering. Both men have since been released on $5,000 surety bail each.
