Only Trump has provided any meaningful push back

To the Editor:

On March 1, the editors of the Sun Rise bravely jumped on the politically correct bandwagon along with the New York Times, Providence Journal, Boston Globe and a host of others to declare NOT TRUMP.

These voices speak with great indignation as they gaze upon the peasants in the field who will not listen to them anymore. They have been born to rule and how dare the peasants rebel against them and not give obeisance to they who have all light. For they have given us liberalism, multiculturalism, globalism, interventionism, militarism, feminism, illegal immigration, same sex marriage, the Holiday Tree, climate change, the language question at the ATM and the ruling establishment with their sycophant media has turned their back on our history, our culture and traditions in an attempt to make us citizens of the world and have not recognized that we are Americans.

The Republican and Democratic parties are wings of the same establishment- one on the left and the other on the right and no matter who wins, the ruling elites of both parties go in the same direction towards a socialist world order. In one generation, they – Nixon, Carter, Reagan, Clinton, Bush, Obama – have made a Communist regime that had murdered tens of millions of its own into the second largest economy in the world with brand new highways, bridges, airports and cities, while the U.S. trade deficit with China increased from $6 billion in 1985 to $365 billion in 2015.

These moral arbiters have given their blessing to the People’s Republic of China, which ordered the horrendous criminal slaughter of all second born, an atrocity not seen since King Herod slew all the Israelite children under 2 years old in the first attempt to kill Jesus. Here at home, this establishment has opened our borders, stripped our manufacturing base, given us endless wars and transformed us from the greatest creditor nation to become the greatest debtor nation with a debt of $20 trillion. Hillary, the smartest woman in the world, has promised more of the same and only Trump has provided any meaningful push back for which he is hated.

In the 1st century, one man was despised and rejected by the ruling class of his own nation because he dared to speak the truth against the ruling establishment and they hated him for envy sake because the people were drawn to him and not to themselves. Back then, the man was called Jesus; today the man is called Trump and yes, Trump is no Jesus. However, the similarity with the ruling establishment today with the Pharisees of Israel back then is striking.

NOT TRUMP as they look down their long liberal noses and detest him for the same reason that they detested Jesus for if they let him alone, they would lose their position as the respected establishment. These modern day Pharisees, also appear outwardly righteous, but within are full of hypocrisy and iniquity, and they are afraid because we don’t listen to their insults, their scolding, their ridicule, their mockery, their effete elitism and character assassination. In the 1st century, they crucified Jesus because he “spoke blasphemy” and they instead released Barabbas, a murderer and insurrectionist; in the 21st century, they declare Trump “not fit” and they must choose Hillary, a pathological liar. Happy Easter!

It would be very helpful, Mr. Thorp, if you described in detail the solutions to the problems mentioned in your article that Trump has advocated.

Ken B wants a detailed solution that Trump has advocated, so here is one:

We are going to build a wall on the Mexican border which will stretch from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico and it will have the following specifications: 'A' shaped in section, 26' high , 7' wide at base tapered to sharp point at top, crowned with stainless steel razor tape and punctuated every mile with unmanned towers, complete with laser beams, motion detectors, sensors, etc. The wall will be constructed with American made materials, steel framing spaced 5' on center and faced with aluminum panels vertically 2' on center; each alum panel will be colored alternately red and white, same as the American flag and these stripes will be lite from recess at top of each stripe with LED lights. At the location of towers, will be a large dark blue panel of same construction and lite with 50 beautiful stars and a sign at top on the Mexican side will say in English "PAID FOR BY MEXICO" and on the American side "WE WILL MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN". At the appropriate locations, the wall will be interrupted with a "door" where those entering and departing will be checked if they have the legal papers. This door will be designed to suit the majestic nature of the wall. The wall foundations will consist of 3,000 psi concrete, reinforced with #5 rebars at 12" on center and will be complete with sonar devices to detect any untoward movement underground. And to complete this work, we will construct a 4 lane divided highway from ocean to ocean WITH NO TOLLS so that all of us can marvel at what we have built and it will all be paid for by our neighbor, Mexico!

Construction documents will follow, but hope this helps KEN B in his search for Trump specifics.

To accomplish your solutions to the problems facing the United States, will Trump work with the Congressional and judicial branches of the United States government in regular order according to the Constitution of the United States of America? He has never said that he would rely on the Constitution to accomplish his goals.

Ken B: Your question is a fair one, and the one thing about Trump that gives me pause. In contrast, we can be quite certain that Ted Cruz would use the constitution as his primary mode of guidance. We can be equally certain that Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders view the constitution as an annoying, archaic hindrance to their utopian goals of equality of outcome through a radical and highly divisive policy of income redistribution. Finally, I find it rather disingenuous that the very same people who get unnerved about Trump's lack of detail (though they exist on his web page in droves) thought nothing of a giddy endorsement of the current president, whose 'details' consisted of nothing more than "Hope and Change". Given the choice, I'd take Cruz. But Trump is certainly a more plausible and grown up Plan B.

It won’t be Trump or Cruz. Neither Cruz nor Trump will have enough votes on the first ballot to win the Republican nomination for President of the United States of America. After the first ballot, the delegates, who are chosen by the Republican leaders in each state or voting district, will have the opportunity to choose the best candidate who can defeat the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee in November.

Ken: You might be right about the convention. But your initial concern was about details from Trump. Igor addressed that in spades. You then switched to Trump's constitutional underpinnings. That's also been addressed. Now you're on to the convention. What's next, the guy's shoe size?

Thank you for providing the details of Mr. Trump's proposed wall. I'm still unclear about how an American president has the authority to compel the leaders & citizens of another sovereign nation to finance a multi-billion dollar construction project. Can you elaborate? Thanks!

    Total Material Cost Estimate: $17,073,806,000

    167,272,000 cubic yards of cast-in-place concrete at $93/cubic yard = $15,556,296,000

    1,030,000 segments of 10’ pre-cast panels at $17/panel = $17,510,000

    2,500,000 tons of steel rebar at $600/ton = $1,500,000,000

(Total cost not inclusive of labor, machinery, design, surveying, land acquisition, project management.)
