“Perhaps they are not stars, but openings in the Heavens where the love of our dear ones pours through and shines upon us to let us know they are happy.”

In the early hours on Wednesday, April 17, 2013, Otto Henry “Hank” Vosselman passed gently from the arms of his cherished wife, to reunite in Heaven with his dearest friends Michael “Mikee” Koczan and John Castagna.

He is survived by his adored wife Lynn Potter Vosselman and children, Helen M. Thorne, Richard “Skip” McDaniel, Lauralyn J. Potter and Robin M. Castagna.

Hank was the proud grandfather of Scott (Shondra) Thorne, Steven (Selina) Thorne, Sandra (Stephen) Gallant, Melissa Lynn Potter, Brendan Jacob Castagna and Kaylee Lynn Castagna.

He was the beloved great grandfather of Casey, Carissa, Payton, Kolby, Catie, Aiden, Cailyn, Stephen Jr., and the late Sean Andrew.

The long days of his illness were brightened by daily phone calls from Skip McDaniel whom he “fathered” from a very young age.

Each day he eagerly looked forward to the reliable visits of “his girls” Laurie and Melissa, whose culinary treats greatly enhanced his failing appetite.

The last few years of his life were made perfect by the reunion with his daughter for whom he had searched for sixty four years. Thanks to the diligence of a determined grandson, the family was delightedly reunited on Long Island and have remained in loving contact ever since.

Hanks most often used phrase was “I am the luckiest man who ever lived.” His lively sense of humor, his love of life, his adventurous enjoyment of travel; his ease at making lasting friendships and his exuberant enjoyment of all things great and small will be a lasting memory for all who loved him.

Hank will be sadly missed by his many friends, Merle and Don Brayton, State Police Lieutenant Joe Philbin, Joyce Hoyle, Sally Cooke, Amy and Eddie Yung, Ray Forcier and his beloved spoiled cat. Also in Germany, Horacio and Isabel Stache, Ulla, Ulrich and Andreas Mueck and Martin Klemm.

He worked as a foreman for H.W. Ellis Inc. and later owned and operated his own business Ufoam Insulating Co.

A veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, Hank served his country as Crew Chief on aircraft stationed on Guam and other Air Force Bases overseas.

He enjoyed memberships in Leadership Warwick, Warwick Chamber of Commerce and his work to help set up Elizabeth Buffum Chase Shelter for women and children.
