Out with the old, in with the new

Rain didn’t stop the Apponaug Girls Softball League from starting the move Tuesday from Winslow Park off Main Avenue to their new digs on the opposite end of Green Airport. And, as Julie Hopgood, aided by her son Andrew, and Desmond Bernal loaded up a van with furniture and league equipment from the clubhouse, Patrick Marshall and Peter Almeida (pictured above) clipped and rolled up field chain link fences, which is going to the city. The two work for John Rocchio, one of the subcontractors working on a realignment of Main Avenue to accommodate a longer runway. The new league clubhouse is pictured below. (Warwick Beacon photos)
