Tied at one late in the second half on Friday, PCD’s Tucker Wray scored off of a corner to lift the Knights 2-1, giving the Warwick Vets boys’ soccer team its first loss of the season.
PCD struck first with a goal in the opening half before Vets’ Nikone Soupharath tied the score at one in the second half. But Wray’s goal with 12 minutes to play broke the deadlock.
Ryan Costa made 10 saves in net for the ’Canes.
Vets fell to 2-1 in Division III with the loss, while PCD is 2-0. Two days earlier, Vets defeated Johnston 3-2 for its second win of the season. The ’Canes got two goals from Josiah Enos and one from Dan Lobato to pace the offense. Above, Ryan Costa charges out of net against PCD to corral a bouncing ball.
