Hop to it!
The Panera Bread at 1000 Bald Hill Road in Warwick asks the community to support its “Raise the Dough” Easter Bunny Bonanza to benefit B’s Mobility Ride tomorrow from 5 to 7 p.m. With a $10 donation per person at the door, children and adults alike can enjoy a photo with the Easter bunny, a goody basket and an Easter cookie decorating station with all proceeds going towards securing a wheelchair accessible van for eight-year-old Benjamin McDermott of Warwick who has muscular dystrophy, and his family.
“We had a Preview Party benefit in early January for B’s Mobility Ride and it was such a huge success we wanted to follow it up with another fundraising event around the Easter holiday,” said Ruth Devitt, general manager of the Panera Warwick bakery-cafe. “So, we encourage everyone to hop on over, celebrate the joy of Easter with our long-eared friend and help ‘Raise the Dough’ to maintain Benjamin’s quality of life through the purchase of a wheelchair accessible van.” To date, several Panera fundraisers in the area and a radio partnership with “Reading With Robin” have raised more than $12,250 towards Benjamin’s van.
Panera Bread’s overall mission is to help Benjamin and his family reach their goal with a variety of fundraising events. To find out about any upcoming events Panera has scheduled to help B’s Mobility Ride, visit and like its Facebook page, howleybreadgroup. Panera is also asking others in the local community to help raise funds for B’s Mobility Ride and, for those interested, to reach out to Marketing@HowleyBread.com for participation or ideas.
