Papa’s Ice Cream Now serving homemade cupcakes Buy 3, get one free for May
Paul Jr. and cupcake "artist" Amy raise a soft-serve cone to their loyal customers and welcome you to Papa's Ice Cream.

There is just something magical that happens when you put children and ice cream together. Faces light up, joy crowds out sadness, and, for one moment frozen in time, pure happiness prevails. It is this spirit of happiness that Paul and Addie Silva hoped to capture when they opened their ever-popular ice cream parlor, Papa's Ice Cream Shop, over 13 years ago. This clean, bright and nostalgic business was opened as a gift of sorts for both their own children and for the child that dwells in all of us. In fact, Paul and Addie named this tasty and indulgent shop after their children, with a nod to mom Addie herself. Each letter in the name "Papa's" stands for a member of their family: "P" for Paulie Jr., "A" for Addie (one daughter), "P" for Pam (another daughter), "A" for mom, and finally, "S" for Silva, thus "PAPA'S", (now synonymous with the best ice cream in town!) The Silva family tradition of great taste, low prices and friendly service continues now, after all these years.

Papa's huge selection of hard and soft serve ice cream and frozen yogurts claims close to 90 options with 20 different toppings - each more sinful than the next! Try out some of these new additions to the menu: "Malt Shop Crunch" - malt-flavored ice cream with chunks of malted-milk ball candies and a milk chocolate swirl; or the "Old-Fashioned Peach Cobbler" - classic peach ice cream with a ribbon of sweet brown sugar and sticky-bun dough; or the "Coconut Chocolate Almond", a refreshing coconut ice cream with chocolate chips and almonds. And these are only to get you started!

One of Papa's Ice Cream's newest additions is a no-fat, no-cholesterol, low-cal and gluten-free frozen yogurt, "Only 8". It is also safe for most diabetics and those with lactose intolerance, and best of all, it is only one point for Weight Watcher® fans.

As if it was even possible, Papa's Ice Cream is better than ever. Now, talented baker Amy Friedman is adding her homemade cupcakes to their repertoire of lip-smacking options. Amy bakes two flavors of cupcakes every Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and holidays (or any day with an advance order). As a bonus, she is offering a "Buy 3, get one Free" deal for the whole month of May! To add big flavors for summer, Amy has added these new cupcake selections: Pina Colada, Pink Lemonade and Strawberry-Banana! Call and order cupcakes for your graduation, Fourth of July, Memorial Day and summer celebrations.

Papa's Ice Cream is open seven days a week, 2pm until 9 pm (watch for extended summer hours coming soon)! They are located on 2987 West Shore Road in the Buttonwoods section. CASH ONLY please. Call them at 739-4975.
