The Pilgrim girls' basketball team, searching for its first league win of the season, came close on Thursday night but couldn't quite pull it out against Coventry.

The Pats stayed in the game the whole way but ended up on the short end, 53-48.

Pilgrim scored only 13 points in the first half, while Katelyn Reph scored 10.

With the loss, Pilgrim fell to 0-11 in Division I with seven league games remaining. Coventry, which beat Pilgrim 44-35 earlier in the season as well, improved to 3-8.

The Pats will be back in action today at Cranston West at 7 p.m.
