The Pilgrim football team struggled in the rain on Friday night at home against Central, losing 47-6.
The loss was the fourth straight to open the season for the Pats, as they are now 0-4 overall and 0-3 in Division II-B. Central improved to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in D-II-B.
In the midst of a downpour, the Knights struck early and often. They carried a 34-0 lead into halftime and a 47-0 lead into the fourth quarter. Patrick Owah scored twice for Central, while Donald Johnson, Carlos Mangum, Wayne McKinney, Kwame Ireland and Nathaniel Perez all scored as well.
Pilgrim finally got on the board in the fourth quarter, when Michael Kelly recovered a fumble and ran 35 yards for a touchdown.
The Pats’ next game will be Saturday at West Warwick at 1:30 p.m. The Wizards are coming off a loss to Shea last week, but are still 3-1 overall and 2-1 in D-II-B.
