Paul D. Girardi, 68, passed away February 1, 2013 at home. He was the beloved and devoted husband of Roberta (Palmieri) Girardi.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Pietro and Adelina (Pereira) Girardi. Paul was employed as a shellfisherman and was owner of the former Sportman’s Bait & Tackle on West Shore Rd. He was also a certified Harley Davidson technician and a master marine technician. Paul was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Photographic Society of RI, the Foster Parent Mentor, Inc. and was an avid Patriots fan. Paul will be remembered for his sense of humor and as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Besides his wife: he is survived by one daughter Paula Girardi, three sons, Paul Girardi, Jr., Kyle A. Girardi and Geoffrey Fennel, three stepchildren, William Jordan, Danny Santos and Gina Masiello; one sister Louise St. Pierre; four grandchildren, Hannah, Matthew, Addison and Michael Girardi; two great-grandchildren Angelina and Michelle Girardi. He was the brother of the late Peter Girardi, Manuel and Angelo Santos.
His funeral will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rita Church, Oakland Beach Ave. at 10 a.m..
