Paul W. Knight, Lieut., WPD (Ret.), 75, of Englewood, Florida, a former Warwick, RI resident, passed away August 24, 2013 at Memorial Hospital, North Conway, New Hampshire after being stricken at his summer residence in Freedom, NH. He was the husband of Arlene (Caron) Knight for 55 years.

Born in West Warwick, a son of the late Joseph G.E. and Marion (Evans) Knight. Mr. Knight was a retired lieutenant of the Warwick Police Department having served for 21 years. He received an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Salve Regina University and served in the United States Navy Reserves for 6 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, fishing and hunting, along with reading and woodworking.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Kim Uustal of East Greenwich, two sons, Russell P. Knight, Capt., U.S. Navy (Ret.) of East Greenwich and Eric J. Knight of Warwick; two brothers, Alan Knight of Duanesburg, New York and Michael Knight of Torrington, Connecticut; and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 6 p.m. in the Henault - Gallogly Funeral Home, 5 Eddy St. West Warwick. Visiting hours will be Sunday prior to the service from 4-6 p.m. Interment will be private.
