Paul W. Sweeney, 78, died March 30, 2013.

A life-long resident of the Oakland Beach section of Warwick, he was the son of the late William J. and Ethel M. (Wakefield) Sweeney. Mr. Sweeney was employed with the City of Warwick in the Department of Public Works for 34 years retiring as a supervisor in 1987. He was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of the Wm. Shields American Legion Post #43 and the Oakland Beach Fireman’s Club. He had a great passion for antique cars. His last days were spent at the Sunnyview Nursing Home and the kindness and loving care he received was a great comfort.

He was the brother of Mary E. Reynolds, Virginia Sweeney and the late Francis, Elizabeth, William, Jr., and James V. Sweeney; uncle of Sandra Rice and William C. Reynolds, Edward Rice III, Scott Rice, Jonathan Reynolds and Justin Reynolds. He also leaves his boyhood friend, Boyd Dascoli of Maine and good friend, Brian Bourbon of Warwick.
