Pauline (Chickering ) Brelsford

Pauline (Chickering ) Brelsford, 88, of Francis Street passed away July 14, 2012 at the West Shore Health Center. She was the wife of the late William J. Brelsford, Sr. They had been married for 64 years.

Born in Cambridge, Massachuesetts, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Vivian C. (King) Chickering. A retired bookkeeper, she grew up in Barrington and graduated from the LR Peck School in 1941. Pauline was a bookkeeper for the TFE Co. in Warwick and was an active member of the VFW Post #272 and served as Treasurer of the Ladies Auxiliary for 18 years. She enjoyed her weekly card games at the VFW Post and her Monday night card games at the Meadowbrook Senior Center.

Pauline was the beloved mother of William J. Brelsford and his wife, Joyce, Wayne J. Brelsford and his wife, Fran, and Patricia Robbins; loving grandmother of Julie, Jamie, Jessica, Mark and Kelly. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren. She was the grandmother of the late Lisa Marie Brelsford and Nathan W. Brelsford; great-grandmother of the late Jared T. Brelsford and sister of the late Frank Chickering.

Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. Burial will be in the Rhoed Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7 p.m. Information and condolences, visit TheQuinnFuneralHome.com.
