The Rhode Island Mineral Hunters, a non-profit organization, presented a $1,000 scholarship to Morgan Haldeman, a senior studying geology at URI at the 43rd Annual Rock and Mineral Show, held Oct. 25 and 26 at CCRI. The organization, which meets monthly at CCRI, is dedicated to the study and promotion of geology, rocks, minerals and fossils and gives out scholarships to students in good standing who are studying geology, environmental studies or related fields. Scholarship applications can be download from their website, www.RIMH.us.
