Pearl Berkowitz

Pearl Berkowitz, 81, of Cedar Pond Drive, died March 12, 2012 at home. She was the beloved wife of the late Seymour Berkowitz.

Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Harry and Edith (Galer) Ackerman, she had lived in Warwick for three years, previously residing in Cranston. Pearl was a department head of Country Crest Bakery in the former Douglas Drug Stores. She was a member of Eastern Star and AARP.

She was the devoted mother of Susan Berkowitz, with whom she lived; dear sister of Irwin Ackerman and his wife, Gerry, of Johnston, and Ann Kosofsky and her husband, Howard, of The Villages, Fla.; and loving aunt of Ellen Kosofsky and Stephen Kosofsky and his wife, Siobhan.

A graveside funeral service will be held March 15 in Lincoln Park Cemetery, Warwick.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or your favorite charity. Arrangements made by Shalom Memorial Chapel, Cranston.
