The Pilgrim Senior Enrichment Center, located at 27 Pilgrim Parkway, offers educational, nutritional and recreational programs to folks 55 years of age and older. The center is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. All meals require a reservation; call 468-4076.

Center closed Monday, Feb. 17, President’s Day

No Tuesday evening meals in February.

For Seniors and Low Income, income tax preparation by AARP volunteers will begin Thurs., Feb. 6 through Fri., April 11. Appointments are necessary and can be made at the Welcome Desk or by calling 468-4071. Appointments are Thursday and Friday mornings with electronic filing at this location only.

Property Tax Relief: Appointments for assistance with the 1040H form for Property Tax relief can be scheduled with Kim at 468-4500.

Play Bingo at the center on Mondays and Thursdays at 1:30

‘Friends’ Bingo Sunday, Feb. 9, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Do You Have Questions? Housing? Heating Assistance? SNAP? Medical Insurance? Prescription Assistance? Need help stretching the dollar? Call Alyson, our Information Specialist, at 468-4079 or stop by the Lobby and visit with her, concerning various Assistance Programs available. Feb. 5 & 19, 11 a.m.-12 noon.

URI Pharmacy Outreach Program Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m. The topic is “GERD,” GastroEsophageal Reflux Disease. Is it just a fancy name for heartburn? Learn about lifestyle and drug choices for the treatment of this common condition. Bring a friend and your questions.

Valentine’s Day Party: Come join us and sing and dance to the sounds of Joe Vono and The Rich Life! This entertainment is always fantastic. Join us for this afternoon filled with fun and friends. Pastries and coffee will be served. Entertainment is provided by West Shore Health Center. Tickets are free but necessary. Please pick one up at the welcome desk so we can plan for how many friends to expect. Fri., Feb. 14 from 1-2:30 p.m.

Breakfast With Books: Find out about new books while enjoying pastries and coffee at Breakfast with Books. Join Librarians from the Warwick Public Library as they review the best books of past year and give a sneak peek at upcoming titles. Sign-up at the welcome desk.

Veterans Assistance Program: If you are a U.S. veteran, you may be eligible for some benefits. Ron Plante from the Veterans Administration will be here and if you would like to meet with him, call Kim 468-4500 appointments are necessary. Wed., Feb. 26, 9-11:30 a.m.

Are You Interested? The URI Pharmacy Outreach Program wants to know if you are interested in sitting down with their professional pharmacy staff (one-on-one) to review and discuss your medications, the diseases they are being used to treat, your regimen, and if you have more affordable options. Call Pat Seltzer RN (468-4077) to let her know if you are interested. The date and time are TBA.
