Police, Fire teams in burger battle tomorrow

Posted

Eating perfectly prepared burgers may not sound like much of a challenge. But don’t tell that to teams from the Warwick Fire and Police Departments that are raising money for local charities. Tomorrow from 7 to 9 p.m., the teams will go head-to-head during the Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill’s 4th annual nationwide Burger Battle. It’s a 4-against-4 timed relay, with the team who consumes the specialty burgers the fastest, taking home the title of Burger Battle Champs. And along with the bragging rights, comes a larger cash prize for the team’s charity. Plus, the fastest team in the country will win the title of National Burger Battle Champions and will receive an additional cash donation from Smokey Bones of $5,000. Second and third place nationwide winners will get an additional $2,500 and $1,000 for their charities, respectively.
