STOLEN PURSE

On Oct. 18 at 3:55 p.m., Officer Adam Arico was dispatched to Savers, located at 24 Universal Boulevard, for a report of a larceny. Dispatch advised that the reporting party stated that her purse had been taken while she was shopping in the store.

At Savers, Arico made contact with the reporting party, who said at approximately 2 p.m., she was shopping in the Savers store when she noticed that her purse had been taken from the shopping cart in which she had placed it. She said she had placed the purse in the shopping cart and turned her back to look at merchandise and when she turned around, it was missing. She said her purse contained the following items: one wallet; one checkbook and envelope with money (which she had withdrawn from the bank, totaling approximately $80 to $90); one Medicare card; one Social Security card; assorted credit cards; house keys; and car keys. She said both her savings and checking account numbers were also in her purse.

Arico said he checked with the store manager, who said there were no cameras in the area where the purse was taken and that the cameras only cover a very limited portion of the store. There were no suspects.

MISSING OARS

On Oct. 19 at 12:45 p.m., Officer Russell Brown met with a man who told him he received an email from his next-door neighbor, informing him that a metal box (which the man keeps on his property) had been broken into. The man said he keeps two oars inside of the lock box on his property, describing them as 9.5-foot, carbon fiber black oars. He said he was away on vacation at the time he received the email from his neighbor. After arriving home, he observed the metal box to have been taken from its secured location in front of his house and smashed open. He told Brown the oars were missing and he didn’t give anyone permission to use them. The man said he arrived home and has been checking the area but has been unable to find the oars, which he valued at approximately $300 for the pair.

He advised Brown that on Oct. 14, he received a notice from Life Lock, informing him that somebody had attempted to use his identity for a PayDay loan on cashnetusa.com. He said he spoke with Life Lock, which advised him they were investigating the situation and were touch with cashnetusa.com. He said he was told no further action was needed and that there was no monetary loss. There were no suspects.

SHOPLIFTING

On Oct. 17 at 1 p.m., Officer Joseph DeDonato responded to the Walmart at 840 Post Road for a report of a shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival, DeDonato met with a sergeant and another officer, who had detained two subjects suspected of shoplifting at the store.

DeDonato then spoke to an asset protection associate, who said he observed an unidentified male, later identified as James Foose, 30, of 101 Aborn Ave. in Warwick, wearing a navy blue jacket and white baseball cap, behaving suspiciously in the electronics department. He said he saw the subject select an HDMI cable and conceal it in his pants pocket. He then made his way toward the toy department, where he re-grouped with an unknown male, who was wearing a gray sweatshirt and white hat. The associate said there was also an unknown female. The subjects then made their way to the exit, passing all points of purchase and making no attempt to pay for the concealed merchandise. The associate said he followed the subjects outside, at which point Warwick police arrived and detained them. He told DeDonato Walmart was willing to pursue criminal charges.

DeDonato said Officer Parrillo placed Foose into custody and transported him to Warwick Police Department headquarters, where he was processed and charged with one count of misdemeanor shoplifting, and then released on the summons to appear in court.

Adding a shoplifting arrest to his record of being a petty crook, scofflaw and bully for shoplifting an item worth less than $20; another wizard and Frequent Flyer keeping our law enforcement busy...

That O'Loughlin guy should be put in jail for life. Entire family should pack up and move to Canada.

Bizarre comment...I guess Canadian children don't deserve the same protections as our children. I'm all for sending him away to the Arctic Circle if he's guilty, though; an extremely cold place before he goes to an extremely hot place...

    Ron Paul,

    1. I never attended Warwick schools.

    2. I don't judge entire families by the actions of an individual, otherwise I'd figure you're entire family is ignorant and can't spell a simple word like "damn".

    3. What does Canada have to do with any of this?

You're good for a laugh, though. If you don't have anything intelligent to say in the first place, try to restrain yourself from replying and just making yourself look even more foolish.
