MISSING WALLET

On Nov. 2 at 4:33 p.m., Officer Kevin McGuire was dispatched to Blake Street for the report of a larceny that occurred the day before.

Upon arrival, Officer McGuire met with the reporting party, who said she was in Wal-Mart, 650 Bald Hill Road, on Nov. 1 with her boyfriend between 1:30 and 2 p.m. She said she was in the Men’s Clothing section shopping and had left her Coach wallet in the upper portion of the carriage and it was not until she checked out and began putting groceries in the car that she realized the wallet was gone. She said there was a set of Saab keys attached to the wallet, which contained two credit cards, R.I. driver’s license, Social Security card, birth certificate, $27 in U.S. currency, a debit card, and a Kohl’s card. The approximate value of all items is $400.

McGuire said he responded to Wal-Mart and met with Loss Prevention personnel, who checked the video surveillance cameras for the time of the crime, however they could not get a good camera angle of the area where the woman said she was shopping. No suspects.

SHOPLIFTING

On Nov. 1, Officer Erin Cahalan, and additional officers, responded to the Stop & Shop at 2470 Warwick Avenue for a shoplifting.

Upon arrival, Officer Cahalan spoke with the reporting party, a Loss Prevention associate, who said a female, later identified as Heather Neal, 36, of 1174 Douglas Avenue, Apt. B, North Providence, entered the store and proceeded to food shop, selecting various packages of porter house steaks, sirloin strips, seafood, and boxes of K-cups totaling $547.27. Loss Prevention said the shopping cart was full and the woman passed all registers and points of purchase without paying for the items and exited out of the front of the store. Neal was stopped in the parking lot by Loss Prevention as she was heading toward CVS to catch the bus.

Cahalan said the incident was captured on close circuit surveillance. Positive ID was made with Neal’s identification card and she was taken into custody and transported to Warwick Police headquarters, where she was processed and charged with one count of Shoplifting. She was released on a District Court Summons.
