MALICIOUS DAMAGE

Officer Nadine Pallini reported going to the Norwood Grill on Post Road on April 7 for a malicious damage incident. The owner of the restaurant showed her his vintage car, which had been “keyed” on the driver’s side, passenger side and hood. He also showed her a small decorative shrine along the fence of the property that had been damaged. Numerous items, including crosses and porcelain symbols had been broken. He told her the shrine was for his brother, who passed away in 2012. He said he wasn’t sure when the damage was done but guessed it was some time between April 5 and that day. There were no suspects or witnesses.

MORE DAMAGE

Officer Keri-Ann Leighton-Fialho took a report of vandalism at the East Coast Irrigation and Power Equipment building on Post Road on April 1. The owner told her he came to work that morning and found someone had thrown a rock through a window in the rear of the building and also found some fresh spray-painted graffiti “tags” on the rear of a second building. No suspects or witnesses.

SHOPLIFTING

A Warwick woman was charged with shoplifting at the Wal-Mart store on Bald Hill Road on April 1. Loss prevention told police they saw her select face wash, conditioners, mascara and other items and conceal them in her purse before leaving the store without paying for them. Loss prevention said they recovered $49.63 worth of cosmetics from Alexia C. Manson, 19, of 44 Taplow St. She was taken to headquarters, charged and then released with a summons for District Court.

STOLEN CAR

Officer Gary Driscoll reported a stolen car from the Hampton Inn at 2100 Post Rd. on March 28. He said he met with the owner of the car who told him he parked his 1998 Nissan Maxima about three spaces in from Post Road and under a light because he thought it was a safe place to park. He said he parked the car around 9:30 p.m. and noticed it was gone around 8:28 that morning. The owner said the car had one Pennsylvania plate and some rust around the rear fenders. No suspects, no witnesses and no surveillance.

MISSING SKIS

Officer Daniel DiMaio reported a pair of skis and a pair of ski boots that were taken from a car in the Hampton Inn parking lot on March 28. The owner told him he parked the car, a 1999 Infinti with Florida plates, early in the evening the day before and came back at 6:55 that morning and saw the pair of K2 energy skis worth $500 and the boots were gone. No witnesses or suspects.

BIKE STOLEN

Officer Nadine Pallini reported a stolen bike on Bayside Avenue on April 2. The owner of the bike said he put the bike in his garage in December of last year and noticed it was gone about a week ago. He said it was a silver Trek that cost $500 and he was unsure of when it went missing. He said he contacted Castor’s Bicycle store on Post Road, where he bought the bike, and they gave him the serial number for it. Pallini said she entered the information into NCIC. No suspects or witnesses.

WARRANT

Officer Aaron Steere reported he stopped a car for doing 10 miles over the speed limit on Route 95 north around 10:40 p.m. on March 29. He said a check on the driver revealed an outstanding warrant for failure to appear relating to a violation of a no contact order for the driver. Matthew K. Sklarski, 18, of 44 Mulberry Dr. in Wakefield was taken to headquarters where he was charged with speeding and then held for the bail commissioner.
