He said he asked him several times what his name was and several times there were inconsistencies and different names, like “Jesse,” “Yesef” and “Jose” Medina. Reay said there were three outstanding warrants for a Yesef Medina. Reay said Jose Medina, 38, of 19042 Grotto Ln. in Germantown, Md., was taken to headquarters where he was also charged with obstruction and later transported to the ACI to be held without bail. HIS BROTHER’S

KEEPER

Officer Kevin McGuire reported he was on patrol around 5:20 p.m. on March 8 when a Jeep Cherokee ran a red light right in front of him on Greenwich Avenue. He said he immediately pulled the Jeep over and asked for the driver’s papers. The driver said he didn’t have any identification on him but told him his name was Ronald Bridges and gave his date of birth. He said a check revealed that there was a warrant out for a Richard Bridges with the same date of birth and McGuire asked dispatch to clarify. Dispatch said it turned out that there are twins, with the same birth dates, but that Richard Bridges had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. With no identification to go by, McGuire arrested the man he stopped, who said his name was Ronald, and was about to head into headquarters when the man admitted he was actually Richard and he didn’t use his real name because he knew there were warrants out for him and that he didn’t have a driver’s license. Richard Bridges, 27, of 85 Wendell St. in Providence was later released on $1,000 surety bail.

He had dispatch send firefighters while he put his car behind the vehicle and directed traffic around it. He said he found a woman in the parking lot of Town Fair Tire who told him what happened. She said she was leaving work at PetSmart about five minutes before when she smelled smoke coming from the vents of the car that suddenly got thicker and she stopped at the red light to check the vehicle.
