BROKEN WINDOWS

Officer Albert Marano Jr. was dispatched to 43 Knowles Drive at approximately 4:04 a.m. April 4 for a report of two vehicles whose windows had been smashed in. Upon arrival, Marano met with the owner of both vehicles, who said she parked the vehicles in her driveway around 8 the previous evening. When she woke up at 4 the next morning to get ready to go to work and start her vehicle, she noticed that one vehicle had the passenger window smashed in and the other had the driver’s side window smashed in. Marano said he did not observe anything around the vehicles that had broken the windows or anything disturbed inside the vehicles. The woman said nothing was taken from the vehicles and that she did not have any problems with anyone or know of any suspects.

STOLEN PURSE

Officer Britton Kelly responded to the lobby of Warwick Police Department headquarters at 2:25 p.m. April 4 for a report of the larceny of a purse. Upon arrival, Kelly met with the victim, who said her purse was stolen between 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. April 3 while she was at the Home Depot at 80 Universal Blvd., off Rt. 2. She said she left her purse in the carriage in the parking lot, and by the time she noticed it was missing and returned for it, it was gone. She described the purse as medium-sized, black nylon fabric with three zippered pockets. She said it contained at least $200, her driver’s license, credit cards, checkbook, cell phone and other personal information. She told Kelly a GPS trace was put on the phone and it was turned on that morning in Gardner, Mass. She said she canceled her credit cards and notified banks. The woman told Kelly when she went back to look for her purse, she talked with store management, who reviewed video surveillance but said it was of poor quality and they were unable to locate the carriage with the purse or anyone taking it. There are no suspects.

VEHICLE LARCENIES

Officer Aaron Kay was dispatched to the lobby of Warwick Police Department headquarters at approximately 6:21 p.m. April 4 for a walk-in report of a larceny from a vehicle that occurred at the Kent County Courthouse at 222 Quaker Lane. Kay said he spoke with the victim, who said while at court the day before, his vehicle was entered and items were stolen from it. The man said he arrived to court in his vehicle around 10 a.m. and noticed the missing items at 1 p.m. later that day. He said the driver’s side door does not lock because it is broken and cannot be secured. He told Kay stolen items included a black and red 28 Visonik subwoofer valued at $60 and a Sony 150-watt X2 amplifier valued at $70. He said that one of the subwoofer cones had a cracked middle, that the subwoofer was located behind his driver’s seat and that the amplifier was in the back seat near the subwoofer. The man said he also had a yellow, green and red Skull Candy backpack valued at $60 that was taken from the vehicle. He said nothing of value was in his backpack, just his school belongings. The man said he advised Capital Police of the incident and they informed him surveillance cameras did not cover the area where he was parked. He said there was no damage to his vehicle, as it had been unlocked at the time. There are no suspects.

Officer Kevin McGuire Jr. responded to the lobby of the Warwick Police Department at approximately 3:50 p.m. April 8 for a larceny report. Upon arrival, McGuire met with a man who said that parked his vehicle at Dave’s Bar & Grille at 2339 Post Road on April 7 from 8:15 to 11:30 p.m. at the fence in the back of the building toward the left. He said that his cell phone, wallet and GPS unit were in the center console of this vehicle at the time, which he believes he left unlocked. He said he got back in his vehicle at 11:30 p.m. and drove home but discovered the items were missing when he went to reach for his cell phone and couldn’t find it. The man said the total value of the stolen items, including the cash in his wallet, was $195. There are no suspects.

MISSING TIRES

Officer Julio Benros responded to Bald Hill Dodge at 1035 Bald Hill Road at approximately 9:50 a.m. April 7 for a report of a larceny. Upon arrival, Benros met with the victim, who said that four wheels were stolen from a silver 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. He said the four rims and tires were valued at approximately $4,500, and that the larceny occurred sometime after 5 p.m. April 5 and before 6 a.m. April 7. Based on the victim’s report, detectives responded the scene and processed it. There are no suspects or video surveillance.
