On Tuesday, the Kent County Grand Jury reported out an indictment charging Antonio Yanez, 22, of 30 Green St. in Cranston, with two counts of first-degree child molestation, three counts of second-degree child molestation and one count of obstructing a police officer.

It charges that Yanez sexually molested a person 14 or younger in July in the first and second degree. He was also charged with obstructing an officer on July 8. Warwick Police conducted the investigation. Yanez will be arraigned in Kent County Superior Court on Oct. 24.

LARCENIES

A Warwick woman reported she left her wallet in the baby seat of a cart at Home Depot on Sept. 28 and returned later to learn it was gone and presumably stolen. She said there was around $400 in cash and about $350 worth of gift cards, her birth certificate, her Social Security card and two Bank of America cards. There were no suspects or witnesses.

An 82-year-old woman who lives on Williamsburg Circle told police she was visiting a sick neighbor when she left her car open, and returned to realize her purse was missing. She said there was $60 in cash and four credit cards and her driver’s license in the purse. There were no suspects or witnesses.

On Sept. 29, a Warwick woman told police she got into her car on Bay Avenue the morning of Sept. 29 and found the seat had been moved back. She said she went to work and called her boyfriend later and realized that someone else had been in her car, and a pair of Coach sunglasses worth $250 and her water bottle were missing. There were no witnesses or suspects.

A Westerly man told police he was staying at the Motel 6 on Jefferson Boulevard on Sept. 26 when he noticed the window on his girlfriend’s car was broken and a black bag was missing. He said documents and keys were in the bag, and he also said he found a cigar package with one cigar in it that didn’t belong to him or his girlfriend. Police seized the cigar. There were no suspects or witnesses.

A Connecticut woman told police she brought her sons to the Launch Indoor Trampoline Park on Pace Boulevard on Sept. 28, and they put their things in a locker before they used the trampoline but did not lock it. She said they went back to the locker minutes later when they realized it wasn’t locked, but an iPhone was already missing. She said she reviewed surveillance with the staff but did not see anyone take the iPhone she said was worth $750. Officer Jason Cooke said he reviewed the surveillance himself and observed two young males in the locker room, but did not see them take the phone. The tape showed them leaving quickly when the woman’s son reappeared in the locker room. No other suspects were found.

SHOPLIFTING

Loss prevention at Macy’s in the Warwick Mall told police that a Burrillville man was seen on video as he concealed merchandise worth $172.96 and walked out of the store without paying for it. Loss prevention said he was led back into the store and the man removed the three tops he was wearing and then ran out of the store. He ran across Route 5 but was apprehended by Warwick Detective Joseph Mee. Ernest Higbee, 37, of 280 Union Ave., was held for the bail commissioner as a violator.

Adam Sylvestre, 27, of 120 Lapham Farm Road in Pascoag, was charged with shoplifting at the Walmart on Post Road on Oct. 3. Loss prevention at the store told police they watched him fill women’s handbags with fishing lures, reels, baits and tackle before leaving the store without paying for them. Lost prevention said they recovered 115 items worth a total of $1,421.64 from Sylvestre after he walking into the custody of Warwick Police Officer Jill Marshall, who was waiting outside.

Jason Paul Andersen, 32, of 345 Blackstone Boulevard in Providence, was arrested and charged with shoplifting at the Target store in the Warwick Mall on Oct. 1. Loss prevention told police he concealed three items worth $118.27 and walked out of the store without paying for them. He was charged with felony shoplifting based on a prior conviction for the same offense.
