She gave Benros a description and plate number for the car, a 1999 Honda Civic Coupe with a rear deck spoiler, and told the officer no one had permission to use the car and that she had her set of keys with her. There were no suspects or witnesses.

He said he parked his car outside his house around 12:15 a.m. and returned to it around 12:30 p.m. and found the GPS and watch were gone. He said there was no damage to the car and the GPS was an older model worth $50, but the watch was a Nixon Platform watch worth $200. There were no suspects or witnesses.

A Taunton man was charged with shoplifting at the Target store in the Warwick Mall on Jan. 11 after loss prevention at the store told police they saw him select a $499.99 camera and conceal it before he walked out without paying for it. Loss prevention gave Officer Stephen Major a copy of the video of the theft. Jonathon M. Deslauriers, 24, of 139 Williams St., was held for the bail commissioner.

Brooke A. Calabro, 19, of 39 Oak St. in Cranston, was charged with stealing $50.05 worth of beauty aids from the Walmart store on Post Road on Jan. 9. Loss prevention told Officer Joseph DeDonato said she was seen behaving suspiciously in the beauty aids department before she was seen concealing items in her purse. Loss prevention said she also took a lingerie top, pants and a shirt and hid them in the purse as well. Loss prevention stopped her outside after she made no attempt to pay for the concealed items.

Officer Christopher Lo was dispatched to the Sears store in the Rhode Island Mall on Jan. 8 for an employee being detained for embezzlement. They told Lo they had surveillance of the employee coming into the store through the pick-up doors and punch in. They said she then walked out into the Walmart store, bought some groceries and returned to the employee break room before she went back onto the sales floor for her shift. Loss prevention said he watched her through the shift and saw her go and select a $110 jacket and remove the tags before walking out to select a recently returned Kitchen Aid mixer and neutralize the sensor before walking out the pick-up doors with the unpaid for merchandise. She was led back into the store where they charged her with stealing $509.99 worth of Sears merchandise. She was taken to headquarters, processed and then taken back to Sears to get her car. Renee A. Rummings, 26, of 468 Warwick Ave. in Warwick, was told she would be arrested for trespassing if she returned to the store.

Officer Joshua Myer reports arresting a Warwick woman at the JC Penney store in the Warwick Mall on Jan. 8 after loss prevent told him they had video of the woman taking a box of Dior perfume and then a box of Burberry fragrance and concealing them in her jacket. They stopped her outside when she left without paying for it. Naomi L. Langlais, 37, of 410 Manor Drive in Warwick, was charged with stealing $185 worth of fragrance. Prior convictions and being on probation made this instance a felony charge.

Officer Jason Brodeur reports arresting a Central Falls man at the Warwick Mall on a charge of shoplifting at Macy’s on Jan. 7. Loss prevention said the man was observed selecting a Nautica scarf and a Polo hat and then concealing the items in a plastic shopping bag before leaving the store without paying. Kelvin R. Lopes, 23, of 30 West Hunt St., was later released with a summons for District Court.

DUI AND REFUSAL

Officer John Curley reports he was on routine patrol around 1:35 a.m. on Dec. 17 when a car passed him doing 51 mph on Airport Road. He said he followed and saw the car weaving from lane to lane before he pulled it over near Delores Court. He said the driver smelled of alcohol, and she reportedly said had a couple of drinks at a party.

Curley said he asked her to get out of the car for a field sobriety test and noticed she was unsteady on her feet. He said he stopped the test when she began to hop during the one-leg stand and he was afraid she would fall. Amy Katherin Cook, 27, of 583 Fair St., was taken to headquarters, where she refused to take a breath test. She was charged with speeding, laned roadway violations, DUI and refusal.
