DISORDERLY

Officer Aaron Kay reported a call about a disturbance at the Burger King at 2615 West Shore Rd. on Feb. 3. Employees at the restaurant told Kay a man came into the store and complained that they got his order wrong and began to trash the store. They said he knocked all the crowns to the floor in the register area and threw straws and soda lids around the counter and floor. Employees gave police the plate number of the man’s car and he was stopped in the area of Wharf Road while Kay took statements from the employees. Paul S. Jackson Jr., 30, of 469 Church St. in Warwick, was charged with disorderly conduct. Kay said they learned that Jackson was out on bail for several other charges and held him as a bail violator for District Court in the morning. He was told he would be arrested for trespassing if he returned to the Burger King.

NO WHEELS

Officer Julio Benros reported yet another car left without wheels and tires at the Briarwood Meadows Apartments on Quaker Lane Feb. 2. The owner told Benros he parked the car around 11 p.m. and returned in the morning to find one side of the car supported by a single jack but could not see what was holding up the other side. The owner said the wheels off his Toyota Venza were worth $6,000. No suspects or witnesses.

UPLIFTING STORY

Officer Walter Larson reported he went to the Victoria’s Secret store in Warwick Mall on Jan. 30 to take a report of some missing merchandise, namely, $900 worth of special-fit bras. Personnel at the store said they had a good idea who took the bras but had no video evidence because there are no cameras in the fitting rooms but did notice that two particular women were in the store around the time the bras went missing from inventory. They said they did have the name of one of the suspects because she attempted to return an item that week and used her driver’s license for identification. Larson said he tried calling the woman he traced the license to but did not succeed and she had not called back. Cranston police also left messages for the woman to call Larson, but so far she has not.

ASSAULT

Officer Matthew Smith reported he was dispatched to West Shore Road around 2:40 a.m. on Jan. 25 for a van that was operating erratically near 2524 West Shore Road. The reporting party was following the van. Smith said he started following it himself when he found it on Samuel Gorton Avenue and followed it as it ran some stop signs before pulling into a driveway on Payton Avenue. He said he was approaching the van when the woman driving shouted, “Are you [expletive] kidding me? I just got pulled over for going through a stop sign the other day.” He said he could smell alcohol on her breath and she appeared to be intoxicated. He said she admitted she had just completed a double shift and had a couple of drinks after her shift. He said she became frustrated while trying to do a field sobriety test and said, “Just take me away.” Smith said she continued to walk away and he informed her that she was under arrest for suspicion of drunk driving and she began screaming and kicking him until she was brought to the ground and handcuffed. She was taken to headquarters, where she refused to take a breath test. Tina M. McCorquodale, 41, of 175 Payton Ave, Warwick, was charged with DUI, refusal, running stops signs, laned roadway violations and simple assault.

LOTS OF TROUBLE

Officer Aaron Kay reported he clocked a car doing 71 miles per hour on Post Road around 1:40 a.m. on Feb. 2. He said he pursued the car onto Warwick Avenue, where it continued to speed before it finally stopped near Shaw’s Market. He said the woman driving appeared upset and said she was in a hurry to get home and didn’t realize how fast she was going. He said he could smell alcohol on her breath and asked her for her license. He said she stalled and told him her name was Samantha Hayes, but she didn’t have her license with her. He said she gave him her wallet and told him to look for it. He said he found a license for a Kimberly Chadwick and the photo matched the driver. He said she continued to say her name was Samantha and finally got upset and admitted her name was Kimberly and she didn’t want to get into trouble. He said he gave her a field sobriety test and she failed it. Kimberly A. Chadwick, 26, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving but Kay learned she had a number of warrants out under her maiden name, Kimberly Hayes. One was for violating a no contact order out of Coventry; one for failure to appear on a suspended license charge out of Cranston; a second failure to appear on suspended license charge out of North Kingstown; and a failure to appear on a domestic arson charge in Providence. He was charged with DUI, refusal and driving on a suspended license and then remanded to the ACI for the warrants.

POSSESSION

Officer Matthew Barlow reported he was dispatched to an accident at Post and Vanderbilt Roads around 12:50 p.m. on Jan. 28. He said one of the drivers was still in her car when he arrived and he went to see if she needed medical help when Rescue arrived and prepared her for transport to Kent Hospital. Barlow said he was looking for her driver’s license when he found a straw in a bag with white and brown powder in it that he believed to be heroin. He said he told the Rescue crew what he found and they gave her a dose of Narcan to counteract the effects of heroin. He said she responded positively and her condition improved and she was taken to Kent. He said she was alert and conscious at the hospital and told him she would not submit to a chemical test. Barlow said he took the suspect substance back to headquarters, where it tested positive for heroin. She was charged with possession of 1.9 grams of heroin. Michaela C. Violet, 41, of 351 New London Ave., Warwick, was charged with DUI, refusal and possession.
