Police: Man brandished knife in Quik Mart heist

Posted

A suspect is being sought in connection with an armed robbery at the Quik Mart at 164 Park Ave. in Cranston on May 1.

Police say the suspect – described as a white male standing between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches tall with a stocky build and wearing a dark jacket, pants and shoes with a hood on his head – entered the store just before noon, displayed a small knife and demanded money.

The man is said to have then fled west on Park Avenue with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect was also wearing a baseball cap with a New Era “59 FIFTY” sticker on its bill, police said, and had drawn the hood closely around his face.

Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact Cranston police at 401-942-2211, ext. 5066. Detective John Ryan is investigating.
