Warwick Police are looking for any information concerning three men who posed as Water Division workers and entered the home of an elderly couple on March under the pretenses they were checking for rust in the water.

According to police, the couple allowed the men to enter their property in the Centerville Road area, and while two of the men distracted them the third began to rummage through their belongings. The elderly woman realized that she and her husband were being deceived and directed the three to leave. The men did so. There were no injuries as a result of this event.

In reference to this event, the Warwick Police are looking for three white males, all approximately 40 years of age, operating a dark-colored sport utility vehicle.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Jeffrey Vivieros at 468-4248 or Captain Christopher Stewart at 468-4231.

Additionally, the Warwick Police Department reminds citizens that they are within their rights to verify the identity of utility workers seeking access to the citizen’s residence.
