Sandra Powell of Warwick has been elected to the Greenwood Credit Union board of directors. Tom Ahearn, chairman of GCU’s Board of Directors, presided over the recent annual meeting which also included the official induction.

Powell is currently the Acting Associate Director of the RI Department of Health, where she oversees the departments that are responsible for agency communications, regulations, policy and planning. Formerly, she served as Department Director for both the RI Department of Human Services, and the Department of Labor and Training. Additionally, she is on the board of directors of Year Up, Providence, and The Providence Plan.
