Providence Bruins ‘skate’ into Norwood Boys & Girls Club

Posted

The Norwood branch of the Boys & Girls Club of Warwick received a special visit Tuesday afternoon from Providence Bruins players Jared Knight and Ben Sexton. Joining the P-Bruins was team mascot Zamboni and Snoopy, courtesy of MetLife Insurance.

Kids got the opportunity to meet all four guests, slapping high-fives with Snoopy and Zamboni, and asking the players a variety of questions, including how many years they have been playing hockey, who is their favorite Boston Bruins player, who has the best hair on the team, and everything in between. Following the Q&A session, students took turns playing floor hockey with the P-Bruins.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Warwick has been part of the local community for more than 40 years. Its two branches, located in Norwood and Oakland Beach, provide services to 1,400 boys and girls ages 5-18. Norwood Child Care Director Nicole Spirito said approximately 105 kids participated on Tuesday. For more information about Boys & Girls Club programs, contact the administrative office at 467-4385 or visit www.wbgclubs.org.
