An inspiring, enchanting, and enlightening, independent and international children’s cinema when the Providence Children’s Film Festival visits the Warwick Public Library for two showings on Wednesday, February 22 and Thursday, February 23, at 10:30 a.m. On February 22, delight in the Film Shorts Screening: All the Wiser. Unexpected experiences can be great teachers. Discover how a hedgehog fascinated by snow, a kitten aspiring to be a witch, and an absent-minded father all grow wiser through unforeseen events. All the Wiser is recommended for ages 8 and up. Some of the films have easy-to-read subtitles. On February 23, revel in the Film Shorts Screening: Magic Carpet Ride. Take a journey to New York City, Germany, Russia, Japan and Australia to witness balancing submarines, sugar-fueled tricycle chases and a piccolo just wanting to be heard. Magic Carpet Ride is an all ages showing. Sign up online at warwicklibrary.org or call 739-5440, x3. For more information, call 739-5440, x9758. The library is located at 600 Sandy Lane. The Providence Children’s Film Festival runs from February 11 through Feb. 26. Visit providencechildrensfilmfestival.org to see the full schedule of films. This event is free and open to all.
