CITY OF WARWICK
PUBLIC HEARING
In accordance with Section 34 of Council Resolution No. R-11-1 entitled “Resolution Adopting the Rules of the City Council for 2011/2012, a Public Hearing will be held in the Council Chambers, City Hall, 3275 Post Road, Warwick, RI on September 19, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. to consider the wetlands petition of Anthony Famiano, to alter a fresh water wetlands in the City of Warwick.
The purpose of the proposed alteration is for the construction of a single-family residence with associated driveway, grading, landscaping and connections to municipal sewer, gas, water and utilities.
The proposed alterations to freshwater wetlands consist of clearing, grading, filling, soil disturbances and other construction-related disturbance within the above-noted freshwater wetlands. The freshwater wetlands affected by the proposed project include at least the 50-foot perimeter wetland associated with a swamp (the area of land within 50 feet of the edge of any swamp), and the 100-foot riverbank wetland associated with a river, Lockwood Brook, (that the area of land within 100 feet of the edge of any flowing body of water less than ten feet in width during normal flow). Although floodplain is present, it is considered coastal. The project, as proposed, will result in the alteration and/or disturbance of approximately 3,400 square feet (0.08 acres) of freshwater wetlands as noted above.
The proposed project is located approximately 50 feet southwest of Green River Avenue near Utility Pole No. 8 and approximately 100 feet west of its intersection with Obadiah Avenue, Assessor’s Plat 332, Lots 55 and 62, Warwick, RI.
Full site plans illustrating the proposed project and detailing freshwater wetlands to be altered can be viewed in the Warwick City Clerk’s Office, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
At this time all interested parties may be heard for or against such change of present wetlands facilities.
