RI Youth Theatre holds info session for teen playwrights

Rhode Island Youth Theatre (RIYT) will hold an informational session for its Young PlayRIYTs program, a free mentoring program for students ages 12 to 18 who are interested in playwrighting.

On Saturday, Jan. 7 from 2 to 4 p.m., RIYT president and founder Ann O’Grady will hold a meeting at the Warwick Public Library for students and parents interested in learning more about the program.

Enrolled participants will be matched with an adult mentor who will guide them through the playwrighting process, from imagining the plot to editing the script. Students may work as an individual or pair, or as part of a group. Enrollment in the program is free.

Those wishing to attend Saturday’s information session should RSVP to Ann O’Grady at ann@riyt.org. For more information about Rhode Island Youth Theatre, visit www.riyt.org.
