Rachelle N. Paquette, 29, passed June 23, 2012. She was the beloved daughter of Gerald N. and Loretta (Gatto) Paquette.
Rachelle was a third year pre-med student at Northeastern University when she suffered a traumatic brain injury ten years ago. Her life since then has been nothing less than miraculous. She had the “heart of a lion”. Her perseverance throughout her road to recovery with hardships and setbacks was an inspiration to her doctors, therapist and everyone who came in contact with her. She would light up a room, and her sharp sense of humor would make people laugh or blush.
Besides her parents, she leaves her sister, Renee Paquette-Glaude and her husband, David, and brother, Christian P. Paquette. She was the granddaughter of Gerald A. and Vivian (Gagne) Paquette and the late John and Immaculata (DeFina) Gatto.
Her funeral will be held Friday, June 29, 2012 at 9 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. A collation to celebrate her life will follow. Burial will be private. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Brain Injury Assoc. of RI, 935 Park Ave., Suite 8, Cranston, RI 02910 will be appreciated. Information and condolences, visit TheQuinnFuneralHome.com.
