Panera Bread Warwick, located at 1000 Bald Hill Road, is inviting the public to its “Raise the Dough” Preview Party Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Warwick.

Attendees will be able to assist the organization with a $5 donation before enjoying unlimited samples of Panera’s upcoming new menu favorites, including Roasted Turkey Harvest Wheatberry Salad, Vegetarian Autumn Squash Soup, Rigatoni San Marzano Pasta, Roasted Tomato & Feta Baked Egg Soufflé, and Chocolate, Vanilla & Red Velvet Cupcakes, as well as popular returning item the Pumpkin Spice Latte. The event will be in memory of John Hussey, the brother-in-law of Ruth Devitt, general manager of the Panera Warwick bakery-cafe, who passed away from the disease last year.

“It is always very hard to choose one organization from all the worthy causes in the area, but the Muscular Dystrophy Association and its mission really struck a personal chord with me and my staff due to John’s courageous bout with the disease and his recent passing. I encourage everyone to come enjoy the delicious new menu items that Panera has to offer and help ‘Raise the Dough’ to fight muscular dystrophy,” said Devitt.

“Panera Bread/Howley Bread Group is a valued supporter of the Muscular Dystrophy Association,” said Katie Fisher, executive director of the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts, based in Warwick. “Whether it is through their weekly donation of breakfast to the patients of the MDA clinic at Rhode Island Hospital, the donation of time and energy of their compassionate employees, or their willingness to host and participate in events to benefit the MDA like this ‘Raise the Dough’ Preview Party, they have become our allies in the fight against muscle disease. We are so grateful for their unwavering support.”
