Randall strikes out 13 in one-hit gem

Jake Randall pitched a one-hit, complete-game shutout and struck out 13 as Warwick American’s Sheridan Electric beat West Side’s VFW Post 183 10-0 in an interleague battle Friday night. Randall also went 2-for-4 with a double and a single, while Brandon Leach, Cameron Martin and James Canning all had hits. Sheridan Electric improved to 4-1 with the victory. VFW Post 183 was led by good defensive play by Anthony Marrone and Jason Tourgee.

Sheridan Electric 9, Donelan’s 7

Sheridan Electric picked up another victory Sunday, topping Donelan’s 9-7. Jacob Paul pitched into the sixth inning with nine strikeouts for Sheridan, in front of solid defense led by Madison Jackson. Paul, Will Walaska, Cameron Martin and Cameron Armenti all had hits. Donelan’s rallied twice in the fifth and sixth innings, before Nathan Miller closed out the win in relief. Dylan Gallagher and Pat Frye kept Donelan’s in the game with solid pitching performances.

Brennan’s Braces 15, VFW 4

Home runs by Andrew Merryfield and Collin Lemieux powered Brennan’s to victory on a windy Sunday morning. VFW, playing shorthanded, rallied in the sixth and scored four runs.

DeGiulio Insurance 5,

Savage & Savage 4

DeGiulio Insurance scored three runs with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning to come back from a 4-2 deficit and defeat Savage & Savage Law in a 5-4 thriller Friday night at Warwick National. Danny Riccio was 3-for-3 with two runs scored, and sparked the fifth inning rally with a two-out single. Jake White then plated Riccio with a double and scored on Ben Rindeikis’s single. Rindeikis scored the go-ahead run on Thomas Mullane’s double, and then Mullane got the save with a one-two-three sixth inning. Jake White struck out 11 and gave up three hits over five innings in a strong start for DeGiulio, but Savage & Savage rallied for three runs in the top of the fourth inning to go ahead 4-2, setting the stage for DeGiulio’s dramatic finish. Dylan Palumbo was 2-for-2 with two doubles and two runs scored for Savage & Savage, Jack Hornstein drove in the go-ahead runs with a two-out double and Ethan Asadorian had an RBI single. Savage & Savage also displayed great pitching depth, using a series of pitchers to hold DeGiulio at bay until the late game rally.

Savage & Savage 18, Coastway 6

Savage & Savage bounced back from the loss to DeGiulio with an offensive explosion in an 18-6 win over Coastway Credit Union. Every Savage & Savage played had at least one RBI. After falling behind in the top of the third, Savage & Savage scored 13 runs in the bottom of the frame. Pitchers Zack Fraser and Aidan Sullivan sealed the victory.

Sinapi Law 22, Donelan’s 9

The top three spots in the batting order combined for 11 hits as Sinapi Law surged past Donelan’s 22-9. Sothea Ang Minh was 3-for-5, Matthew Henry was 4-for-5 and Connor Fallon was 4-for-5 to lead the offense. Richard Cole drove in two runs. Tyler Parks pitched two scoreless innings, striking out five.

Sinapi Law 16, Leo Tire 4

Sinapi won its second game of the week with another offensive outburst in a 16-4 win over Leo Tire. Richard Cole picked up a complete game win with a dominant performance. Sothea Ang Minh had his first home run of the season and made several big catches in center field. Sebastion Gluschenko also had a run saving catch in right field, and the defense shined in general as Sinapi picked up its second win of the season. Dante Wilding led Leo Tire with two hits.

Leo Tire 10, Coastway 9

Run-scoring doubles by Anthony Berry and Collin Murphy gave Leo Tire an early lead and the team went on to victory in a back-and-forth game. Coastway rallied for six runs in the third.  Leo Tire tied it in the bottom half but Coastway scored another three in the fifth to surge ahead. Leo chipped away to score two more in the fifth, and Jared Reminder pitched a scoreless sixth.  Leo then loaded the bases in the sixth with no outs, and Dominic Villella drew a walk for the game-winning RBI.
