Up for re-election this year, Sen. Jack Reed has been meeting Rhode Islanders across the state in recent weeks.

“The great thing about Rhode Island is that the people are thoughtful and willing to talk about how they feel. Meeting them makes the issues we face more real,” Reed said on a tour through Warwick last Thursday.

Reed, along with Sen. William A. Walaska and Rep. K. Joseph Shekarchi, were outside Dave’s Marketplace at 2687 West Shore Road Thursday morning before making a noontime stop at the Pilgrim Senior Center. At the center, more than 100 people were on hand to meet with the senator.

Reed visited the Lincoln Senior Center on Aug. 8. He plans to celebrate Restaurant Week in Central Falls this week.

Reed encourages people to attend.

Last Wednesday Reed attended the opening of a new Pick-n-Pull location in Johnston that will help bring new businesses and jobs to Rhode Island. It's amazing how blind people are to what really goes on in this state. Jack Reed was front and center when the housing bubble was blowing up and ready to pop. He is at fault as much (if not more) than any other member of the Senate. He was also raising money from the same people he was supposed to oversee. It's too bad no one serious runs against him...and it's even worse that he'll get around 65% of the vote. When will we learn in this state?
