Registration for 2nd Skate for Shriners available

The second annual Skate For Shriners fundraising event will be held on March 1 at Boss Ice Arena in Kingston, and pre-registration to attend is available now.

The family-friendly event will be held on Saturday, March 1 from 7 until 10 p.m., featuring music, food and two hours of ice time. Pre-registration is $17 until the day of the event; tickets are available at the door for $20. All net-proceeds from the event are donated to Shriners Hospital for Children in Boston.

David Prata, founder of Hallowed Entertainment Group LLC, started this skating event following the passing of his mother, Elaine G. Prata. Elaine was a wife and mother of two, who battled Scoliosis. Skating was one of her favorite childhood pastimes. “The Shriners Hospital was an integral part of Elaine's surgeries, and that is why our fundraiser will benefit

them directly, so they may continue their mission to help children, no matter their families’ ability to pay,” said Prata, event manager.

Last year’s inaugural Skate For Shriners event raised $775 with a one-hour event. With the expansion to two hours of skating time, the goal is to raise $2,000 or more for Shriners to provide medical care for children who families might otherwise not be able to afford it.

You can pre-register to skate at skateforshriners.com; for more information, email events@hallowedentertainment.com.
