Rene T. Charpentier

Rene T. Charpentier, age 64, of Haswill Street, Warwick, died on April 9, 2014, at home. He was the husband of Susan L. (Sidok) Charpentier.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of Loretta M. (Gregoire) Charpentier of Pawtucket and the late Wilfred A. Charpentier, he lived in Warwick since 1985. He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Charpentier was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 16 years before retiring in 1999. He was previously employed at Durastone Construction Co. in Pawtucket for 11 years. Rene held a 3rd degree black belt in Karate, and had served as a Karate instructor at the Don Rodrigues Karate Academy. He was an active parishioner at St. Kevin Church in Warwick.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, David P. Charpentier and his wife, Jocelyn of New York, New York, and Christopher R. Charpentier (WFD) and his wife, Lea of Warwick; a grandson, Brent; a brother, Paul A. Charpentier of Warwick, and a sister, Jean Charpentier of Pawtucket. He was the brother of the late Roger Charpentier.

His funeral was held on Saturday, April 12, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane, Warwick. Burial with military honors was in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
