Representative Patricia L. Morgan (R-Dist. 26, West Warwick, Warwick, Coventry) has been selected as one of approximately 50 state leaders to participate in the 2012 Emerging Leaders Program, sponsored by the State Legislative Leaders Foundation.
“I am thrilled to have been selected to participate in this program,” said Morgan. “This gives me an opportunity to exchange ideas with other state leaders, enabling me to learn from them and also to promote Rhode Island. I am hopeful that I will be able to return with tangible ideas to make Rhode Island’s economy stronger and its government more efficient and transparent.”
This year’s Emerging Leaders Program is being held July 9-12 at the University of Virginia. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with some of the nation’s most prominent political and business leaders, in addition to attending classes and other workshops. Among the issues to be discussed are political and personal leadership, ethics and state legislative issues.
No taxpayer dollars will be used to pay for Morgan’s travel, accommodations or attendance of the Emerging Leaders Program.
