The Board of Public Safety is reminding retail business owners intending to open for business between the hours of midnight and 5 a.m. on “Black Friday” – the day after Thanksgiving – that they must submit a letter of request to the board.
Requests must be on the retailer’s official stationery and must outline proposed hours of operation as well as a crowd-control plan. Non-compliance may result in fines and/or closure. Police details may be suggested or required.
Written requests should be submitted as soon as possible, but no later than Thursday, Nov. 1. To expedite requests, retailers should email them to email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. Or, they may be mailed to or dropped off at the Licensing Division, located in the Warwick Police Department, 99 Veterans Memorial Drive, Apponaug.
Licenses are required by City Ordinance, Chapter 10, Section 10-2.
