The Rhode Island Chapter of the Rhode Island Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame celebrated its 25th anniversary golf classic in special style yesterday at Cranston Country Club. Legendry New England Patriots Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line Coach Dante Scarnecchia, who is in his 28th year in Foxboro, was the guest of honor for the 18-hole tourney that benefits the Chapter’s scholarship fund. The group above, part of which has raised upwards of $133,000 for scholarships that have gone to over 700 scholar/athletes in the Ocean State, includes from left: Executive Board members Tony Rainone and Cranston East head coach Tom Centore, URI head coach Joe Trainor and President Emo DiNitto, who is the former athletic director for Warwick Public Schools. DiNitto was also long-time head football coach in Rhode Island.
