RhodeMap RI community meeting Monday at library

Representatives from the Rhode Island Division of Planning will host a RhodeMap RI open house on Monday, May 12 at the Warwick Public Library from 5 to 8 p.m. Members of the community are invited to attend the seminar, receive information about the plan and provide feedback.

RhodeMap RI is part of Governor Lincoln Chafee’s goal to create a coordinated plan for future improvement to the state, including plans for the economy, housing, land use and transportation systems. Initial reports were released in February and can be found at www.rhodemapri.org.

During the three-hour open house, a brief overview and summary of RhodeMap RI will be delivered at the top of each hour. Division of Planning staff will be present to answer questions.

Childcare will be provided on-site, and Spanish interpreters and deaf/hearing-impaired assistance can be provided. Contact Krista Moravec at 272-1717 for more information.

Survey tools and additional information is also available online at www.rhodemapri.org now until May 23 for those who are unable to attend an open house or wish to look over the information further.

The planning process for RhodeMap RI will be completed later this year. The project is funded by a Sustainable Communities Initiative Grant.
