Richard E. Walsh, age 34, of East Greenwich, passed away on May 6, 2013 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Providence, he was the son of Darlene A. (Wickham) Walsh and Richard D. Walsh of East Greenwich. A graduate of Toll Gate High School in Warwick, class of 1996, he attended Northeastern University and Rhode Island College. He worked at Raymour and Flanagan Furniture, and most recently at Bob’s Discount Furniture Store as a senior salesman. Rick loved landscaping, classic movies, and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his mother and father; he is survived by his beloved sister Alison A. Walsh of Cranston; his grandfather Raymond L. Walsh of Warwick; his aunts, Mary E. Ciunci and Barbara Sample and her husband, Charles, of Warwick. He was the nephew of the late Edward L. Walsh, Sr. and Gilbert S. Ciunci; the grandson of the late Ann M. and Edwin V. Wickham and Catherine E. Walsh; and the grandnephew of the late Very Rev. Edward H. Flannery.

His funeral will be held on Friday, May 10, at 8 a.m. from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours are Thursday 4-8 p.m.
