Richard M. “Dicky” Turner

Richard M. “Dicky” Turner, 72, died June 19, 2014 in Ruskin, Florida. He was married to his good and loving wife, Shirley (Rathbun) for 39 years.

Born in Providence, a son of the late Richard P. Turner and Marion (Lingren) Turner. The family resided in Warwick for many years where he attended school. He worked at Groton and other jobs. He loved sailing and fishing. He built iceboats in the winter if the ice was thick enough. He enjoyed life to the fullest even though he lost his leg below the knee in a motorcycle accident.

Dicky is survived by his siblings: Judith Callen, William Turner, Edith Doyle, Charles Turner; nine nieces and nephews; and two grandnieces. His son, Shayne Turner died last March. He is survived by four grandchildren.

He will always be loved and missed by his family and friends.
