Robert A. “Papa” Sorgi, 71, passed away December 27, 2013 at Home & Hospice Care of RI with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Maryann (DelSanto) Sorgi for 47 years.

He was the son of the late Mario and Tina (Sicchio) Sorgi, and an Accountant and owner of RS Custom Accounting for over 25 years. Robert was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy and also served in the Army and Navy Reserves. He was a communicant of St. Peter Church, where he was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, a lifetime member of the Warwick Knights of Columbus, where he was a past Faithful Navigator, 4th degree and served as a comptroller. He was a member of the Wm. Shields American Legion Post #43 and the Warwick Police Reserve.

He was the beloved father of Debra Langevin and her husband, Richard, and Pamela Tweed and her husband, James; brother of Marianne Lonergan of Texas and Kathleen Meloche of Michigan; devoted grandfather of Joshua, Emily, and Abigail Langevin, and Cameron Tweed. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Monday, December 30, at 8:45 a.m. from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Church, Fair Street at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veterans’ Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7 p.m.
