Robert B. Tupper, 82, of Quaker Drive, died suddenly December 19, 2011 at home. He was for 59 years the beloved husband of Margaret M. (Izbicki) Tupper.

Born in Hawkeye, Iowa, he was the son of the late Frank and Catherine (Finnegan) Tupper. Bob worked in underwriting for Amica Insurance for 34 years before retiring in 1992. He was a United States Navy veteran and a member of American Legion Post 2, Arctic. He graduated in 1958 from the University of Rhode Island.

Bob was an avid fisherman who loved the water. He is being remembered as the ultimate family man and as one of the best guys you'll ever have known.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Robert B. Tupper Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of North Attleboro, Mass., and his daughter, Michele Essex of Warwick. He was a loving Grampa to Deandra Essex, Steven Essex Jr., Jacquelyn and Bethany Tupper.

Calling hours will be held Dec. 23 from 4-7 p.m. at Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home & Crematory, 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick, during which a prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m.
