Robert D. “Bob” Poirier, 83, died March 19, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Dolores T. (Hannon) Poirier.
Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Feliza and Eva (Degrenier) Poirier. Bob was the owner of Bayview Seafood in Oakland Beach for over 20 years. After his retirement in 1993, he loved spending his time fishing on the bay and watching the Red Sox.
Besides his wife he leaves his children, Robert J. Poirier and his wife, Dorothy A. Poirier, Donna Marie Slocum and her husband, Robert Slocum, and Richard J. Poirier. He was the brother of the late Raymond Poirier, Rita Menoche and Estelle Clement and stepbrother of the late Norman Bechard. He is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
His funeral will be held March 22 at 9:30 a.m. from Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Clement Church, Long St. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket. Visiting hours are March 21 from 4-7 p.m.
