Robert D. “Uncle Bob” Starkey, Jr., 58, of Warwick, passed away unexpectedly in Blanding, Utah on October 4, 2014, while vacationing in western USA. He was the beloved husband of Michele (Leduc) Starkey for 30 years.

Born in Providence on April 7, 1956, he is the son of Carole Door and the late Robert D. Starkey, Sr. A retired U.S. Postal Service worker, Bob was a zealous stamp collector and dealer, a History/Geography enthusiast, as well as an avid reader and world traveler.

He enjoyed playing cards, watching sports with his many friends, and treasured any time spent with family and friends. Bob was a doting husband and uncle, always giving his undivided attention to each of his friends and family members, especially his nephews and nieces.

Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his sister Laurie Starkey; and 39 much-loved nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to participate in a commemorative gathering at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston, RI on Thursday, October 16, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be a prayer service at 3:00 p.m. followed by an opportunity to share in a Celebration of Bob’s Life.
