Robert J. Murray, age 91, of Kristen Court, Warwick, died on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the husband of Grace E. (Napier) Murray for 61 years.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Joseph J. and Anna L. (Tierney) Murray, he was a life-long Warwick resident. He attended the University of North Carolina and Duke University, and was a graduate of Bryant College. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II, and retired with the rank of lieutenant. Mr. Murray was employed by Harley-Davidson Motor Co. for 29 years, and retired as a district manager in 1986. He was a member of St. Peter Parish in Warwick.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a sister, Margaret Phillips of Warwick; two nieces, Kathleen Murray and Dianne Stebbins; and two nephews, Paul D. Murray and John P. Murray. He was the brother of the late Joseph J. Murray.
His funeral was held on Monday, August 31, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick.
