Robert Nolan ordained at Woodridge United ceremony

Robert William Nolan was ordained and installed at Woodridge United Church of Christ on Sept. 25. The most prevalent comment made by clergy, friends and family was “wow!”

The service and activities included 45 minutes of pre service music, as well as music throughout the service. Participants included the Temple Sinai Shirenu, the Woodridge Choir, the Providence Gay Men’s chorus, the Woodridge intergenerational and advanced chimers, piano and organ. Kim Kuda, music director at Hope Congregational Church, UCC and the Providence Gay Men’s Chorus lead the music.

Clergy reflecting and leading included Rev. Scott Spencer, Pastor of Woodridge Church, Rev. Caroline Patterson Inlow, Phillip E. Nolan M. Div., Rev. Dr. Claudia Demick, Rev. Barbara Libby, and Rev. Amy Carter Frenze, pastor of Hope Congregational Church, UCC and previously ordained minister from Woodridge.

Rev. Robert William Nolan has been the Minister of Music at Woodridge UCC Church for the past 7 years, adding a ministry of healing and licensed authorized ministry in more recent years. He also works as chaplain and director at The Chaplaincy Center in Providence. He has served the business world as CFO in various small and mid-sized companies over his nearly 40-year career, while serving in music ministry roles for nearly 50 years.

Moving forward Rev. Nolan will continue to serve in the ministry of Christ as Associate Pastor and teacher at Woodridge Congregational UCC, as well as Director and Chaplain at The Chaplaincy Center.

Woodridge United Church of Christ is located at 546 Budlong Road, Cranston. Weekly services are held every Sunday at 10 a.m. Woodridge is a community of hope, encouragement and love that is deeply routed in the reality of the risen Christ, with all the possibilities and challenges that it grants us.
